Ingredients

1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

8 ounces fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini), drained

1 cup fresh basil leaves

1/4 cup balsamic glaze

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: Arugula for an extra layer of flavor

Instructions

Begin by preparing the strawberries. Wash and hull them, then slice them into rounds or halves depending on their size.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced strawberries and mozzarella balls. If using mini mozzarella balls, leave them whole; if using larger ones, consider halving them.

Gently toss the strawberries and mozzarella together while adding the fresh basil leaves. Tear the basil leaves into smaller pieces for better flavor distribution.

Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil onto the mixture, and then add the balsamic glaze. Toss gently to coat all ingredients evenly.

Season with salt and pepper to taste. If you prefer a little extra peppery flavor, you can also toss in some fresh arugula.

Allow the salad to sit for about 5 minutes, letting the flavors meld together.

Serve immediately on a large platter or individual plates for an elegant appetizer or side dish.
