Ingredients

For the Crust:

1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

¼ cup granulated sugar

For the Cheesecake Filling:

16 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 large eggs

1 cup sour cream

2 ripe bananas, mashed

For the Toppings:

1 cup heavy whipping cream

¼ cup powdered sugar

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

½ cup chocolate syrup

½ cup strawberry topping

½ cup crushed pineapple

Chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans) for garnish

Maraschino cherries for garnish

Instructions

Make the Crust:

    - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

      - In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix until the crumbs are well-coated.

        - Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form an even crust. Bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden. Remove from oven and let cool.

          Prepare the Cheesecake Filling:

            - In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sugar with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.

              - Add the vanilla extract and continue mixing.

                - Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

                  - Mix in the sour cream and mashed bananas until fully combined and smooth.

                    Bake the Cheesecake:

                      - Pour the cheesecake filling into the cooled crust, smoothing the top.

                        - Bake in the preheated oven for about 50-60 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly jiggly.

                          - Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside for an additional 1 hour to cool gradually. This helps prevent cracking.

                            Cool and Chill:

                              - Remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it cool to room temperature.

                                - Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

                                  Prepare the Whipped Cream Topping:

                                    - In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until it starts to thicken.

                                      - Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Whip until soft peaks form.

                                        Assemble the Banana Split Cheesecake:

                                          - Spread the whipped cream topping evenly over the chilled cheesecake.

                                            - Drizzle chocolate syrup, strawberry topping, and crushed pineapple on top.

                                              - Garnish with chopped nuts and maraschino cherries.

                                                Serve:

                                                  - Carefully remove the sides of the springform pan. Slice the cheesecake into wedges and serve to enjoy the delightful flavors of a banana split in cheesecake form!
