Ingredients

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ cup grape soda

½ cup whole milk

2 teaspoons baking powder

¼ teaspoon salt

Purple food coloring (optional)

For the Grape Soda Frosting:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

4 cups powdered sugar

¼ cup grape soda

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Purple sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, adding the vanilla extract once fully incorporated.

Combine Wet & Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the flour mixture, alternating with the grape soda and milk. Begin and end with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined. If desired, add a few drops of purple food coloring to enhance the color.

Fill Cupcake Liners: Using a cookie scoop or spoon, fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with the batter.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool: Remove the cupcakes from the oven and let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare Frosting: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add in the powdered sugar, alternating with the grape soda and vanilla extract, until you achieve a smooth and spreadable consistency.

Frost the Cupcakes: Once the cupcakes have completely cooled, frost them generously with the grape soda frosting using a piping bag or spatula.

Decorate: Top with purple sprinkles for a fun finishing touch!
